On the brink of a new 2019 year a fourth (24) regular issue of the journal closing the sixth year of edition have been published.
The part "In memoriam..." is devoted to commemoration of a well-known scholar in pedagogy and a wonderful person Tatyana Sergeevna Butorina, Advanced Doctor in Pedagogy, Full Professor of Northern (Arctic) Federal University. For many years T.S. Butorna had worked closely with Karelian State Pedagogical Academy, being the Deputy Head of Interregional Dissertational Council on defending dissertations for doctoral and advanced doctoral degrees in the area of pedagogy.
Nowadays the study of modern methodological problems is one of priority studies in pedagogic science. In the section "Lifelong Learning in a Modern World: Research and Design Methodology" the articles dealing with system-phenomenological representation in education and the functional literacy development of a researcher are placed. The opportunities and threats for digital and distant education is of permanent interest for scholars.
With a feeling of sadness we have to recognize that the profession of a teacher is far from being prestigious now. That's why the research for new ways of value-motivational attitude of potential teachers to their professional activities are of great significance for solving the problems of training future teachers.
As usual, the authors of the journal pay a lot of attention to innovation approaches in lifelong learning. The readers might get interested in the work on continuous (from course to course, from general disciplines to professional ones) communicative training of the cadets of higher penal institution, rhetorization of pedagogical communication while working with secondary school students. The article devoted to grammar-test method preparation for the entrance examination in English for non-linguistic Master’s Programs could be of interest not only for narrow focused specialists but for the heads of Master's Programs as they regularly face the original lack of professional preparation of students while changing the area of study.
The phenomenon of Finnish education with its leading position in international ratings raise a significant amount of interest in pedagogical community. In this issue a reader may learn about the social aspects and perspectives of reforming the Finnish secondary school education directly from the Finnish colleagues. Educational managers could get interested in the ways of designing regional educational pre-school program and special aspects of students training at the basic chair of a higher institution.
We would like to draw the attention of a reader to a new section "Labor Market and Lifelong Learning" with the first three articles published on the topic. These issues has already been discussed in the journal, but the editorial board made a decision not only to introduce a new section but also to widen the editorial panel having included specialist on the given area in the editorial board.
The information on one of the interesting pedagogical events, namely the Russian scientific and practical Forum "Social Pedagogical Technologies in Education: Actuality, Perspectives, and Trends" held in October, 18-20, 2018 in the Republic of Karelia is presented. We do hope that such information on actual and efficient scientific events prove to be interesting for our readers.
The outgoing year was not a simple one for the journal. The journal has been included in the list of peer-reviewed journals of Higher Attestation Commission. We thank all the authors, reviewers, editorial workers, technical service workers, all those who has supported the journal and provided for the timely journal publication.
