The 10th issue of the on-line journal "Lifelong Education: the XXI Century" is offered to attention of our readers. The range of the regions, countries and authors constantly collaborating with the journal has significantly developed since its launch, 2.5 years ago. The geography of publications is constantly expanding; and this time, the authors from Great Britain, the Netherlands and Switzerland have joined us. We are glad that our ideas and topics are continually evolving.  In particular, this is the case of the section «Modern Scientific Vocabulary of Lifelong Learning» In several articles of this issue, the authors conduct a deep analysis of as familiar as new categories and concepts that are widely used in Russian and foreign education (educational standard, team-teaching, professional identity development, egomarketing, imageology).

The issue extensively focuses on the methodological problems. One of them is epistemological effect of social and technical human interaction with information, relevant to education system. The issue raises the questions of what is meant by "knowledge" in a situation of students' access to search engines, how to develop an ability to think critically and assess opinions and information obtained through a free search for information. The articles analyzing standards-based education and the practices of education standardization in different countries including Russia are insightful.

This time, several authors examine the role of students in development of their individual educational and professional biography. University student is considered as a subject of continuing education and professional self-determination. We encourage you to pay attention to the resent regional study of readiness for additional and further professional education among students as well as recommendations for universities on how to optimize a professional identity development process. Our authors consider conceptual problems at the modern phase of teacher education modernization in Russia and analyze the results of “team-teaching” in German-speaking countries.  The unique practice of libraries for visually impaired people is also of a scientific interest. These institutions are now turning into a component of lifelong inclusive education and a factor of improving the quality of socio-educational services.

Developing the idea of ​interdisciplinary lifelong education research methodology, the journal starts publishing the materials on the areas of public life related to education (see "Discussion platform" section) and providing them with pedagogical comments.  This issue focuses on trends and socio-educational implications of social media development, triggering an interaction between different groups through social networks. Another interdisciplinary article provides a cultural and semantic analysis of an advertising and informational video presented on the website of one of the major centers for continuing education in Silicon Valley.

For the first time, this issue raise transdisciplinary questions of pedagogical futurology. In particular, the readiness of those who have pedagogical knowledge to actively participate in building educational scenarios of the future; and the prospects of a future human transformation that modern pedagogical science can anticipate in order to consciously encourage (or hinder) their implementation.
