Abstract: the students with disabilities attitudes towards their health, healthy lifestyle and physical activity were studied. The authors discuss the necessity of an individual approach to students with disabilities in the development of physical education programs and the formation of positive motivation to physical activity. The results of the survey of students with disabilities, who participated in the personal physical activity program created by the Department of Physical Education are presented.
It was revealed that despite the understanding of the need for a healthy lifestyle and the importance of wellness management, the students involved in the Program experience both external and internal barriers. Students have fear that exercises may harm their health, express doubts about the possibility of achieving positive results, experience discomfort in classes. It was found that the reasons for external obstacles are lack of time and information, and lack of social support. Meanwhile, a significant number of students note the positive effects of the program: improved health, positive changes in other significant areas of student life. Positive correlations between subjective well-being and students' attitudes towards leading a healthy lifestyle and engaging in physical activity are presented.
The conditions for increasing effectiveness of physical education for students with disabilities in the university are discussed. The use of individual programs is assessed on the basis use of cognitive-behavioral approach and proves its efficiency.
