Abstract: the article is devoted to the challenges the teenagers faced under conditions of urgent transfer to online learning, their motives for going back offline, and the advantages of distant learning from their point of view. The subjective online learning representations of the 8th grade students in social net works were studied through content analysis. The categories they operate without the factor of social desirability pressure were identified and the frequency of their occurrence is investigated.
The analysis showed two types of difficulties: technical challenges (problems in using E-mail for children, crushes and overloads) and communicational (fear of making a mistake, lack of experience in business correspondence). Advantages are found for adolescents with a number of personality traits: sensitive ones (who suffer from classroom noise), victims of bulling, anxious children, fast- and slow-learners. These results provide new targets for interventions in pedagogical process during e-learning.
