We are happy to inform you that Petrozavodsk State University, the founder of the journal, acquired a new status of a regional supportive university in 2017. The system of lifelong learning development in the region is one of the priorities within the PetrSU program as a supportive educational institution for training and re-training educators at all levels of education, additional and adult education, vocational orientation for high school and college students. To increase the quality of pedagogical training Pedagogical Innovation Park was created aimed at solving practical educational problems via research based activities.

The current journal issue presents the results of studies carried out within the frames of Pedagogical Innovation Park on the problem of first-year students adjustment to studies at the university. In the articles devoted to the solution of this system-related problem is proved that the effort of all participants of the pedagogical process is required. The article considers the results of the study of the role of tutors and the importance of psychological counseling for the first-year students.

In the modern society with its easy access to any information, the importance of scientific worldview formation for high school and university students is crucially significant.  In the presented article the attempt to establish the necessity and possibility of integrative approach to create scientific worldview via natural science education of high school students is made.

We believe that the readers attention may be attracted to the elegant approach of lifelong learning via the paremiological analysis in the pair of English/Russian (comparative analysis of Russian and English proverbs).

The development of international contacts in modern society increase the importance of foreign languages education and requirements to the quality of their teaching. In the published article in this journal issue the results of the study of the reasons for the common linguistic errors in the English language are presented. The  examples of such errors are given and the technology for their correction is described.

The problem of continuity is one of main problems in the development of lifelong learning. It is connected not only with the solution of specific problems but also with the development of methodological approach. One of the articles is dedicated to the study of continuity of general education.

The issue covers some materials linked to the social family resources study at general educational institutions of different types as well as to the study of inclusive education perspectives of different nosological groups and special approach to preparing educators for such an activity.

We thank all the permanent journal authors for their activities and do hope for further cooperation work. We invite researches in the field of lifelong learning to vital discussions in the coming journal issues.
