This twentieth issue is a jubilee one which completes the fifth year of our journal existence. The article, which fully corresponds to the New Year spirit of adventure, opens the December issue. It is devoted to manifestations of childish prank as a natural attribute of a child's life, worthy of serious pedagogical research.
Most of the materials in this issue are practice-oriented and involve the updating of forms and methods of instruction, taking into account the need to ensure its continuity. Some ways of establishing the continuity of school and university education are shown on the example of creating an educational environment "School - University" for generating new forms of profile and pre-professional education. The authors from different cities and regions ofRussiadescribed the experience of the organizational and pedagogical work of the schools, colleges, technical schools, universities in the design and implementation of modern teaching models with such obligatory component as diagnostics. The ways to establish the relationship between the competence of the academic discipline and the professional standard are presented, which allows predicting the results of training a particular specialty. Also problem of overcoming risks in the regional system of continuous vocational education’s development are touched upon. In terms of testing the skills of intercultural competence, a methodical description of the use of quizzes in the high school English teaching is of interest.
Against the backdrop of the trend towards universal computerization and technological development of education, several authors turn to the problems of preserving and developing the ability to use a living word, which requires a change in the didactic paradigm of teaching the Russian language and literature. The causes of negative attitudes toward lyric poetry in contemporary students are analyzed, and some variants of pedagogical solutions these problems are proposed in the framework of various levels of education. An important place in this is given to rhetoric, one of the oldest disciplines, whose teaching dates back to the times of antiquity, but today it practically disappeared from educational practice.
Acquaintance with the modern lexicon of continuous education deepens on the basis of historical and semantic analysis of the English concept of continuous education. Readers are offered new interesting facts from the history of the development of English-language terms related to the notion of learning "from cradle to grave". In one of the articles the logic of the retrospective reflection of the individual educational path is presented can be applied for research purposes and within the framework of self-knowledge.
