Abstract: the article considers the ways of implementing the didactic principle of continuity in training teacher-researchers from foreign countries who study in the master's and postgraduate programs in pedagogical areas in the conditions of a Russian university. The object of the study was the Russian pedagogical education of the university type. The key research methods are systematization, classification, analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature, elements of comparative analysis, interviewing. The experience of optimizing the preparation for pedagogical research of master's and postgraduate students studying at the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of Lomonosov Moscow State University is described. It is concluded that the implementation of the principle of continuity in the training of foreign researchers in the field of education should be carried out simultaneously at several levels: at the level of selecting the topics of final qualifying research in the master's and postgraduate programs; at the level of development and design of educational programs; at the level of comparing the methodology of domestic and foreign pedagogical theory, which, ultimately, provides a theoretical and practical foundation for continuous pedagogical education of foreign students in the conditions of a classical university. Adherence to the principle of continuity in the training of research teachers from abroad contributes to the implementation of strategies for the internationalization of higher education, the expansion of academic mobility, and increased motivation of future teachers for research activities.
