Dear authors and readers of our journal!
We present the first issue of 2025 (spring) of the journal «Lifelong Education: The 21st Century». Despite the diversity of themes in the specific articles of this issue, they are all united by the idea of the interconnection between pedagogical science and pedagogical practice.
The issue opens with an article dedicated to the methodology for identifying relevant areas of scientific research in pedagogical specialties. The authors present the results of a systematic phased study involving a large number of qualified experts, which has resulted in the creation of a List of relevant research topics in the field of pedagogical sciences. Software tools have been developed that allow for adjustments not only at the stages of creating the list but also during its further revision. Methodological and software tools are proposed for identifying current research problems in other scientific specialties.
Methodological and methodological issues of management are important for educational organizations of various levels and subject areas. It is unnecessary to prove that the quality of education depends on the level of teachers’ qualification and the training quality for future educators. Specialists in the field of pedagogical education may be interested in the article revealing the transfunctional technology for managing the development of pedagogical universities. Other management-oriented articles raise questions about the methodology for studying changes in internal school management and the pedagogical potential disclosure for the scientific and educational centers at universities.
A significant portion of the articles in this issue is related to innovative approaches in education. The discussion continues regarding the opportunities for training students in project activities to solve additional pedagogical tasks. The author of a publication on this topic provides evidence of an increase in students' ethno-cultural competence during their engagement in project activities. Other articles focus on ways to utilize a Telegram channel as a means of organizing independent work in teaching the language of specialization to medical university students, training future journalists in foreign discursive practices, and organizing family travel as an educational event.
The issue of mentoring remains significant for the theory and practice of continuous education. For methodological associations of educators, the results of an analysis of the experience of the pedagogical community of music teachers in preschool educational institutions in Petrozavodsk may be quite useful.
In the discussion section, an article is included that addresses the concepts of «bullying» and «mobbing», presenting an author's perspective on the essence and characteristics of these phenomena. This article can be viewed as an invitation for further discussion on ways to address this pressing pedagogical issue.
We draw the attention of potential authors to the fact that the third issue of the journal is traditionally planned to be thematic, dedicated to the problems of academic literacy and academic writing in the education system.
As always, we thank all authors, reviewers, and active visitors to the website for their attention to our publication.
